Body: the top, back, and sides show some easily noticeable scratches, scuff marks, dings, and dents, plus there some obvious chips in the lacquer that have been filled in with a black marker; there is moderate to heavy buckle rash on the back; the electronics cover has some noticeable scratches on it

Neck, Fretboard, and Headstock: the fretboard looks virtually flawless; there are a number of small to large dings and indentations that can be seen, and felt, along the back of the neck, however they should not affect comfort or playability; the front, back, and sides of the headstock all show some very small nicks and dings

Action and Playability: the action is way low and will probably need a set up and a slight neck adjustment as the neck has just little bit of back bow to it--luckily the truss rod functions properly

Frets: light wear

Hardware: all looks great except the jackplate has a significant amount of its finish worn off

Electronics: all functions flawlessly

Includes: electric guitar (case and gig bag are not included)

This model guitar was recently re-introduced in 2015 with some obvious differences such as no Tone knob, a Poplar body, Infinity pickups, and as of 2018, a treated New Zealand pine fretboard.  But this ain't that model...this is the earlier version manufactured between 2006 and 2011 (the serial number is missing from the headstock, so dating it exactly is not so simple). This early version features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers, a pair of Ibanez STD-H1 humbucking pickups, and a hard-tail bridge. If you're on a budget, but still craving the viciousness of an Ibanez RG then the GRG121EX is the answer to your problems!
